I've been playing bass in a band for about a year now. We are still only in school but we have the best two guitarists, the best drummer, the best singer and the best bassist in the whole school. The problem is that there's two bassists in the band. There's to much going on in our songs, they are like a wall of sound instead of a tune. When we play without the other bassist and without the drummer we sound great. We'd kick him out in a second but he just blew £100 on a new amp and well we kinda feel sorry for him. If we got rid of him i'd still have to sit with him in most of my lessons for another year at school. We've gotta get rid of him because we want to record a cd but he is easily the least talented in the band and we don't want our songs to get screwed up by him.
how do I tell him to leave the band? I just aint got the heart
I know i'm a bit of a softie but he's a friend and i need a way to get rid of him, two bassists isn't working, any suggestions?
Another thing, we need a name for our band.
We play Hendrix and clapton, that kind of thing, but we do some heavier and some punk stuff too. We need a name desperatly but we can't think of any we really like. If you can think of any names then send them to firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks
