: i'm looking to purchase a neckthrough bassthat fits my price range of less then 700 bucks (not msrp), i've narrowed it down to the Schecter Stilleto Elite 4, the Tobias Toby Pro 4, or the Spector NS 2000/ 4. I know people are going to tell me to get a carvin, but w/ the features, it's over 700. (unless i got one used) any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

I got the Toby Pro 4 today. It sounds great and looks fantastic. Finish is excellent for this price range. Action is low without buzzing. The active electronics sound great, but are not as loud as most active basses. I plugged into the PASSIVE input on my amp and it sounded very good. A very wide range of tones are available. The neck has a narrow nut width like a jazz bass, but is very thin front to back. This will take a little getting used to for me, but it's a matter of personal taste and others may prefer it this way. Overall it's an excellent value for the money, I would highly recommend it.
