: : Recently I've found having to hold the neck of my bass up while playing annoying and getting in the way of playing. If I use my fret hand to hold it up, moving up and down the neck is a problem. Using my playing hand to push down on the body of my bass gets in the way of that hand playing.

: : Do I have to try and live with it or are there any ideas that could help???
: : Thanks...Richy.

: Hey there,
: my first piece of advice would be: Get rid of that bass! You obviously are playing an axe with a very bass balance problem. Try to find a bass that stays put wether you play sitting or standing. Still, if you want to keep your bass, experiment with different strap lenghts (I mean, I'm assuming you use a strap, right?) until it feels just right.
: Hope it helped. Buena suerte and keep your bass up front in the mix,

You can also move the strap pin on the bottom of the bass so that it is more towards your body instead of in the middle of the bass i.e. line it up with the outside of your bridge, this will give you more of a 45 degree angle, keeping your headstock up.
