: Anybody have any comments on Modulus basses?

: I played what looked like a "Fender Jazz Bass" clone with graphite neck and two bartolini pickups
: through a SWR 350 rig and was totally blown away by the clarity and resolution.

: Single note stuff way up the neck and chords down low were clearer
: than I ever heard before.

: The only thing bad perhaps is the $1600 price tag.

Hey there,
I own a bass exactly like you described, only I upgraded the electronics by ading a Moon AC-1 active preamp. The bass sounded pretty darn good with the original passive setup, but now it rocks! Very clear, well balanced and punchy. An added bonus, for me, is neck stability: with my previous basses I went nuts correcting the neck bows caused by temperature and humidity changes.
In a few days I'll upload some tunes to iuma.com and other similar sites. I'll let you know so you can check out for yourself how well the bass records.
Buena suerte and keep your bass up front in the mix,
El Pájaro
