: I have a pristine, MINT '74-'75 Fender Musicmaster Bass. It came with everything, a hardshell case, inspection tag, owner's manual, unopened cleaning cloth still in the bag, '70's 'telephone' chord, and some sort of small tool. My question is...is this a common thing, for a bass with all of the above, to be sold like this, because nearly every one on ebay, for instance, usually came with a soft/chip case...and few, if anything else, with it. Is this something only larger dealers/musicstores were privey to? Or did I just get lucky? I'm in a neat predicament (how many of these do you find in life?) as I'd like to purchase another one, but would like all the bells and whistles with it, as my one above (who wouldn't?) I be happy to hear from anyone with more knowledge on this than myself! thanks!

Joe,
To be honest, you got *really* lucky! :-)

Keep in mind that the Musicmaster was Fender's *low-end* bass; there weren't a lot of them that were maintained in mint condition in the first place (they usually had the crap played out of them by beginners). Usually, they're more "dime a dozen" more than collectable.

To have all the stuff - hardshell case especially - in *mint* condition is absolutely *amazing*!

It's more than likely that the only place you'd be able to find another MM in that condition would be through a vintage dealer, and *that* would probably cost an arm and a leg!

Hope that helps!

-Bob
