I too had the same problems you encountered with Monster Cables, with 2 different cables. I still have one of their first Monster Bass cables, which sounds different (warmer) from their newer ones (perhaps because it has been broken in). That one lasted through a lot of abuse before the ground on one of the connectors ripped away. It's easy to fix. Anyway, I went through 2 of their newer ones, and in both cases I returned them to the store where I purchased them, showed them a copy of Monster Cable's lifetime warranty that I printed off their internet site (and my receipt), and got a new (Monster) cable each time. You just have to have remember to keep your receipts and be insistent. It says "Lifetime Warranty": Don't fix them, take them back!
