"I can't even find on the web what kind of wireless systems the big boys use (U2, Dave Mathews, Radiohead, whatever...)"

I wanted a wireless system for my bass, but in the end I went and bought an excellent quality cable instead. Good wireless systems as you probably know are not cheap, you get what you pay for. I was only willing to spend up to 200 (about$250, i think) and with wireless systems you have to spend a hell of a lot to get a great sound.

As for the wireless systems the big boys use, i'm not sure but I bet that they cost upwards of 1000 to 1500. Thats for a fantasic signal, but when they're in the studio, there's no way they'll be using a wireless, the professionals will opt for a cable.

My opinion is that cables will outperform the wirelesses anyday, the only problem is the restriction of the cable (which is one of the reasons I wanted a wireless)

It's all a matter of personal preference. I'm sure that lots of people will dissagree with what i'm saying.

This might not really help you, i'm simply saying that you might want to question whether you really want to spend a lot of money, or whether like me you might just want to use a good cable instead.

Adam
