: I'm currently using an SWR SM-500 with a Goliath III 4x10 Speaker. When I bought my Modulus a while back, I plugged the same bass into a GK rig and an SWR rig. The GK rig was a little harsh for my liking...of course, part of that was because of the graphite-necked Modulus with EMG electronics. If you like high-end, you'd probably like the GK rig, but I wasn't really satisfied with it's low end. SWR on the other hand, is almost the opposite. It has decent high-end clarity, but it's low end is pretty monstrous. That's the reason I went with SWR over GK...the SWR suits more of the all-around player, while the GK suits those kinda flashy players like Flea. GK is a great rig, but for all-around playing, the SWR takes the taco. It is really clean and crisp with a great low end.
As I previously posted, I am playing thru used stuff that is functional but not so great, but what I used to use was a 400rbII. The 400rbIII sounds loads better, abd the 700rb is killer. I Like SWR amps, but not so fond of the cabs. They do have low end from hell, but I find the mids a little lacking.
Mix your GK with Genz Benz though, and we are talking a different game!!!
My opinion is that Speaker companies make better speakers, and Amp companies make better amps!
