Im new to this BBS so first id like to say hey to you all. Im 16 next monday and this christmas will be my 5th year on bass. I own a 4 string jazz deluxe and a 4 string fretless rick (decked out mods) right now. But im trying to trade them both on a 7 string Bill Dickens signature Conklin. I know its alot of bass but ive played it and its just my style. I am also working with the parents on getting a carvin r600 and 4x10 cab. I had to borrow this rig from a friend for a talent competition one night and it sounded so great. That compressor is really smooth and the tone adjustment is limitless. I wanted to see if anyone had any multistring techniques that arent used on a 4 string or any advice. Like maybe some arpeggio technique or some exercises to build my speed vertically. Also some tone tips would be very useful. My main style is progressive (Dream theater, Rush, Steve vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmstein) but my current band plays old rock/blues. If anyone has any pointers please let me know.
(PS please email them to me)
