: : Hey, Folks!

: : I could use some advice here on a new amp head. I play high end six string active fretless and fretted electric bass, as well as an Upright with a pickup. Been biamping a G-K RB800 four quite a few years, but it's not roadworthy enough.

: : I need a lightweight amp head that'll stand up to five or six gigs a week, and will give me alot of midrange; I need alot of tone, rather than pounding low end. I'd prefer to biamp, but I'm willing to accept the fact that there may not be another head optimized for it.

: : I've been seriuosly considering a Walter Woods Ultra Hi Power, but before I spend $2100, I thought I'd check in with you guys. So thanks for any help you can give me.

: hi rob,
: im have tried g k gear lots of times in the past and have tried most other amps 2 but not one out there comes close to the messa boogie 400+.. i gig 4-6 time a week and in 4 years of use only a fuse ever stopped it working but on the down side its not a light amp .....when you use it the weight is soon forgotten lots of bass, tons of middle it has two channels a/p ..slave out ,600ohm balanced DI ..what more does a bass player need and no i dont work for boogie...best of luck in your serch

Hi Rob,
Tree months ago, i bought a EBS Fafner and it's really wonderful! Built-in tube compressor, di out, 600W @2Ohm, only 24lbs...
I don't know US pricings, in Germany it costs DM1800 ( = $820)
