: Hi--I've been playing 4 string Bass for about 2 years and was wondering if there are any problems switching to a 5 string- What Kind of Five String Basses are most versatile? I was looking At Warwicks but they are pretty Damn Expensive- Are there any companies that make a good five string but are affordable? Thanks-

hi, warwicks are the dogs but you get what you pay for .lots of cheep ish 5 stringers lose on the b but i have an ARIA custom with emg pickups and it fab i use it more than the thumb bass ..kramer have some cool stuff 2 ...try as many as you can before you buy.but if i was you i would save my money and buy more up market later on ie.. warwicks musicman and the likes .best of luck with the serch
