: Hi--I've been playing 4 string Bass for about 2 years and was wondering if there are any problems switching to a 5 string- What Kind of Five String Basses are most versatile? I was looking At Warwicks but they are pretty Damn Expensive- Are there any companies that make a good five string but are affordable? Thanks-

So, that was your question...yes there are plenty of five strings available. Ibanez, Yamaha, and even Fender make ok basses for about 500-600$$$. there really are no problems with going to a five string....the neck is a little wider, although some companies make a pretty narrow neck..I.E. Ibanez. Go check em out and see what fits you. you will find some good basses out there. as always, Peace, John
