: does anybody have or know how well the LINE 6 BASSPOD would work going straight into a power amp and then into a speaker cab? I would like to use this for mostly live gigs;the reason being; i need a small ,light, portable, good sounding bass rig; or any suggestions? thanx again from the canadian bass hog.

This is the exact system I use, and it works well. I use a Carvin FET1000 power amp into a Carvin 210 speaker cab. With the Carvin cab I leave the speaker sim on, and it sounds great, but with my Ampeg 410 cab it doesn't, so I turn the speaker sim off. The speaker sim works best with a full range speaker, like a PA speaker, and the Carvin 210 is close (it uses the same speakers as their PA cabinets do). I also use the Yamaha Nathan East NE-1 EQ unit in front of the Bass Pod, and I highly recommend it. With the Bass Pod and the NE-1, I have the best live sound I've ever gotten in 25 years of playing.
