: I bought a new Peavey TKO 115 bass combo, and for some reason I can't get a good tone AT ALL, and after having it a few months i noticed it started to rattle, mostly on E.Certain notes it is an extreme rattling to the point where it is very noticeable, it sounds like something from the inside rattling around. It has a few features such as Bright and some gain features, but they seem to either make the tone too high or too low. It also has an equalizer, but after playing around with that, I still can't seem to get it to sound right, its always off, either the tone is too high and it sounds really choppy or else too low so it doesnt sound right and usually causes something to rattle. The music store ripped me off and wont help me out at all,so does anyone have any suggestions on settings for the EQ, or with the effects to make it sound any better? please help.. thanks
First... get the name of the store and either the owner or managers name.
Then get ahold of Peavey. If it is still under warranty, they should take care of it. No sense in messing with something that the warranty should cover. Let Peavey know the problems you had with the store not helping. Give them the store's name and the owner/manager's name. The store should have at least given you the name of a local Peavey authorized repair shop. Peavey isn't too excited about stores that carry their products, treating potential customers the way you were treated.
Good luck, Dave
