Check out the Fender Roscoe Beck. Although the neck is no different in width, it is thinner in depth as it's got graphite rods in it for strength and stability. I also have a standard USA 5 string jazz and switched to the Roscoe Beck cos it felt so much slimmer. You've also got unlimited tonal variation due to the two, threeway switches for series, parrallel, etc, plus a mid cut switch.
Try one, you'll be pleasantly suprised.
