A friend of mine has loaned me an old Furman Sound PQ-3 Equalizer/Preamp. I
am running it through my Peavey Century 200 watt head in to a Peavey cabinet
15" and a Crate cabinet with 2-10's. The guitar is a Warwick Fretless Corvette.
Can anyone offer advice as to how to set my controls on the Century Amp to
best express the work of the preamp? And what is the best way to use the
preamp? I am trying to take a little of the bottom out. I am using the trial-and-error method to learn now, but would like to hear some others' experiences. A little research showed that Geddy Lee uses the Furman PQ-3 a lot for touring, so that is a good endorsement! My friend wants $100 for it and it is probably 20 years old and needs a little re-conditioning. Is it worth it??
