I have a Yamaha BX-1...its my alltime favorite...I love it so it used on ebay for 300...Its a black one from Japan...As soon as I can rationalize it I'll by another Japanese one...preferably White...and then maybe a BX-5

: Hi Bass Players:

: I have a three odd basses and I was wondering if anyone else played these too. Or ever had one of these and had some comments?

: 1. My first - an Ibanez J-bass ripoff (Lawsuit) from 1977. Purchased new in Calgary when I was 16 and I immediately took it home and learned both sides of Kiss's Destroyer. I took off the ash tray cover, front p-up cover, thumb rest and pickguard when I saw a photo of Jaco.

: 2. My Yamaha BX-1 - (headless, tail-tuner w/ fat humbuckers) - Sounds great and hey, it was the '80's and I was in a hair and nails band.

: 3. A Bill Lewis Accoustic Bass circa 1966? - Dreadnought style, Mahogany top, sides, neck, etc - HUGE BASS! The thing is 8" deep @ the front and 12" deep at the rear. I have a fishman mounted in it and it sounds pretty cool. Has a nice upper sing, thuggy bottom though - needs some eq'g.

: I have never seen another one of these basses in my life or career - 20 years.

: Darcy
