: : I play on an old yamaha bb300, and want a bass that will stay in tune and doesn't buzz when I go through the amp. I was looking at a 5 string washburn T25, but I don't know much about the brand or specific model. I was also looking at the Yamaha bb605. Do you have any suggestions with either model? Do you have anything else that you would recommend looking at?

If you're still out there Dale, Washburn makes a decent bass for the price but in general I'd prefer the Yamah . Yam doesn't win many prizes for outstanding looks, but they make a solid, reliable line of basses. I've heard good things about the low end Spectors.

But you might consider taking your guitar in for a new bridge and a tune up. Probably cost you around $100 for parts and labor but if you like your guitar it might be worth it. Then you can save up and buy a higher end job later on.
