Greets!

I just read a lesson on Technique stating that one's fingers should cross the neck at a 90 degree angle in order to create proper tone. I generally hold this to be true as well... however, my bass's neck is 1 inch longer than standard and it seems very difficult to place my hand that way without angling my wrist as well (which the lesson also warns against). Any suggestions/comments?
