I need some help with my tone...i play vintage jazz basses plugged into the passive input on my preamp, even though myu bass uses EMG's, and my rig is as follows, Demeter preampVTBP-201S (http://www.demeteramps.com/), powering a qsc RMX 850 power amp, going out to a bag end S15 BD (http://www.bagend.com/)(sealed, i have not removed the port cover)...

here is the problem, using the balanced line out on the demeter, i get this unbelievable fat, warm tone on tape, but i am unable to reproduce this tone live with the current set up i have, unless i turn the treble and midrange to the nine'oclock position, and the bass know almost all the to the right, and even then the tone is a little bit too raspy...

i am taking the unbalaned out (1/4" plug) into the poweramp, should i switch to the balanced out (xlr) to the power amp, and also remove the port cover on the speaker?

also, i am getting alot of clipping on the power amp, i generally run the preamp volume full up, and adjust my level with the poweramp controls...

thnx for any input
