If you have the funds, get a real teacher and learn the right way first. Plenty of websites with bass info. http://www.visionmusic.com/
http://www.electricbass.com/
http://www.libster.com/ all good places for more information. You have chosen what I consider the most Powerful instrument in music, but just because it has 4 strings it is not any easier to learn to play well. It still takes 3 things, practice, practice, and practice. GOFERIT!!

: ok, well, I'm 16, and my friend and I just decided to start our own all-girl band. The only problem is I don't know how to play any band instruments, so I decided I'd take up bass. I have a couple friends that have decided to teach me how to play, but I still want to get as much feed back as I can from as many people as possible. So if you have anything to tell me, any advice, helpful tips or anything i'd be happy to hear it so you can just email me or im me @ oxkewlbeenzxo. THANX A BUNCH!
