: I want to buy my first bass and I really love the look and feel of the Fender P-Bass. However, I can't afford the USA model, so I'm looking at the "standard" Precision, which I assume is made in Mexico?
: Does anyone have any experience with this bass? Is the stock pickup good enough? What about the bridge?
: I'm a beginner so I'm not really sure what to be on the lookout for.
I am a 30 year player and I have played alot of the high end basses out there, owned alot of them as well. My favorite bass this very moment is a Fender PBass Special (has a PJ pickup set) with Thomastik Jazz Flatwounds and it is the best feeling most dyn-o-mite sounding bass I have played in years. All for under $500.00 two years ago. I have played USA and Mexi versions, and have detected no differences. So I bought the cheaper one! The pickups and bridge are fine, I haven't changed a thing.
