Actually, I've played this particular model. It has a rather nice sound -- But that's about it. You won't get a great range of sounds; Just one nice tone. It has a rather high action, which is usually the case with most P-style basses. It's a pretty nice bass, though -- But I assume you're talking about the Yamaha Attitude Plus? (The Ltd sells for 1000+).
Though, on the topic of Yamaha's, I've found that you usually always do well when buying a TRB, RBX, or BB. I personally play the TRB5-II. I would normally recommend you check harmonycentral.com for info on this model bass, but oddly enough, there's no information on it there!
As for the Fender, I honestly have no experience with it. I'm basically a Yamaha fan -- Never even considered buying a bass from a different company, until recently. (I'm saving up for a Warwick, and might buy a cheap Non-Yamaha backup bass.)
Hope this helps.
: I would like to hear any opinions about / experiences with this bass. Musicians's Friend is selling them for $270.
: Good stuff? Junk? Somewhere in between? What do you think? Particularly in comparison with the Fender MIM Standard Precision.
