Thanks for the help, but I don't think that I explained my problem very well.

I'm pretty sure that timing isn't the problem, although I am having to work on that.

What I meant was that my first finger makes a certain sound and my second finger makes a heavier sound, so when I play (even with good timing) the notes alternate, i.e. soft, heavy, soft, heavy, soft, heavy, etc.

I've found that when I play with that Phyll Lynott style rhythm it isn't so noticable, but my repetoire extends beyond Thin Lizzy !
