Dime, you have to go to a store that stocks this bass, play it unplugged then if you like the feel of it play it plugged in and mess around with the tone controls to see what it can do. In fact play a whole bunch of them. Don't choose an instrument based on what it looks like or what the manufacturer say.

I like the look of the new generation of basses ESP etc. so I tried a bunch of them unplugged and they didn't pass my playability test. The last bass I tried was a Fender because I am not a huge fan of the vintage look, but this bass kicked ass.
