: Last January I bought an electric bass from a local retailer at a suprisingly low price (marked down) because of a small nick on the back side of the body near the bottom strap peg. It's quite visible, but only from the back. In my jam sessions with friends and practices with this small band i'm in, I never thought much of it untill now. If I do go on preforming with this band in more versitile places, it might be a little embarresing to have a centemeter long wood-colored dent on my bass wich is quite a contarst from the orrigonal black of the bass body. I'm just wondering if there is any quick and or easy wasy to deal with this mar. I contemplated some black paint or lipstick mabey. I'd just like a word of advice.

I agree that a few cosmetic flaws give your bass character, but black nail polish will do a great job in covering the dent.
The only dings I fix are the ones on the back side of my neck.

Good Luck,
