I'm looking for a set of strings for my 5-string fretted bass. I've found that nickel strings lose their brightness quickly and the steels aren't good for the frets, so I think that nickel-plated steel strings are the best option. I'm using a set of La Bella Slappers right now and I think they're good, but I'd like to hear suggestions on better nickel-plated steels. Also got my first fretless bass (5-string also) but I can't find flatwounds where I live (Colombia), so I'm not playing it too much because I don't want my fingerboard damaged. I'm planning to buy a set of flatwounds through Internet (along with strings for my fretted bass), but I don't know anything about good flatwounds. Both basses are 34". Any input is highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
