Thanks for your comments! It is a nice "looking" bass but I've yet to try one to see how it "sounds" which is what I'm really after. I have an Ibanez six string that I've never really been happy with the "eveness" of the sound across the strings. The D, G, C strings are not even sounding with the F, E, A strings. Even after installing new EMG's in it still doesn't sound right. I bought a 4 string Fender Jazz standard (MIM) and even though the sound is decent the eveness across the strings is much better. I guess thats what I liked about Fender. On the other hand... I have a LB75F Carvin Fretless 5 string that I really like. I may need to take another look at a carvin fretted before I decide. Decisions, Decisions! ;-)
: I've never tried this model but I did buy a Fender Jazz 62 Reissue. While I think it sounds great, I feel that workmanship was very poor. The bass cost $1200 and I feel I paid way too much for what I got. If I had paid 6 or 7 hundred I probably would have been satisfied.
: The point is I'd be wary of purchasing a Fender and would look carefully at the price to quality ratio for the particular model you're thinking of purchasing.

: : Anyone tried the new Fender offering? American Deluxe Jazz V FMT
: : I'm considering getting one but was curious what others thought about it. I've yet to play on one but the changes they made sound intersting. It has a Pao Ferro fretboard on it, anyone have any comments on this type of fretboard?
