ok, I just read all the responses. whew, lots to think about. Here's one more. I played a fender p bass for more years than I care to count. But now I play (are you ready for this?)a Gibson thunderbird!! yep, there big,heavy, poorly balance,but holy shit, can they play, sound,punch,tone quality and range, its all there. quite simnply the Thunderbird is one bad ass bass. I found my soulmate, I ain't never goin back
