My first bass was an ibanez (TR50 four string if that means anything to any of you) then i went to a fender jazz (horrible mistake). The fenders cant hold a candle to ibanez basses. I'm playing a BTB 5-string right now and couldnt be happier. These basses have the qualities of those that go for prices in excess of 1000 dollars. The monorail bridges really rock...they look amazing (especially mine with the quilted maple top)...even with a 5 or 6 stringer, the neck is never bulky. String spacing is close for those of us who like to spice up those boring straight 8th note bass lines. The only bad thing is, you may never want to play another bass in your life :)
