Cab comparison: Orange vs. Ampeg...

I have a 4x10 reissued Orange bass cab that seems to do the job but the cab seems to produce a real mid-range tone, especially compared to an Ampeg 4x10 HE. Currently, I have an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro running the cabs so power isn't an issue. The problem is the bottom end response from the Orange. I'll play the Ampeg, then switch connections to the Orange and the Orange just doesn't have that warm, bottom end tone that I'm use to/looking for. I find this strange considering I played an Orange rig at several stores and I was very satisfied with the tone, although the cab was running with the Orange 200B head.

I can't help but wonder if something is wrong with the Orange cab because when I recieved it from UPS it was banged up. I'm wondering if the speakers are possibly out of phase, perhaps a bad connection, etc... Or does the cab just simply have a mid-range sound to it. Thank god Orange plans on replacing the banged up cab for free so if something is wrong with the cab I don't have to worry about it.

Regardless I was curious as to see what the opinions are on the overall tone out of either of these cabs, if not both.
