HOLY SHIT!!!lots of ppl have posted followups for this topic.
Getting to the point, right now im very confused about my favourite bass, I like Ibanez (my brother has an ergodyne that kicks the shit out of any bass i've ever heard), but their best basses (like my bro's) cost upwards of 600 bucks which is pretty expensive for me.
I also like the Fender p-bass for its sound and durability, BUT DAMN!!!!PLAYING SHOWS WITH THAT PLANK MUST CAUSE SOME SERIUOS SHOULDER PROBLEMS!! My current bass is some crappy no name second-hand bass thats starting to really fuck up so im looking for any name-brand, good bass (good tone/sound,good playability, lite weight), but i really am not sure about my favourite because im loking into the market for a new bass, like yourself, and i've only played like 4 or 5 other basses than my own.The only real way to decide which bass to buy is to play it yourself. Go into a few music stores, play around with the basses for a few hours, find a bass that you really love, then research it (you obviously have a computer with internet), and if you have the money buy it. Don't take everyone else's advice, think for yourself, and then you can truly make the right choice about a bass.
Hope this helps,
ten 4
