Ok well the best advice i can give you. As the other dude said, set all your mids down and treeble up. This will help your sound cut through the other instruments while slapping but have a very low tone when you play finger style. Another tip i can give you is consider buying one of the ibanez soundgear basses with the mid sweeping and mid frequency options. These make a truly fantastic slap tone. Fieldy from KoRN uses it very effectively to cut his sound through the heavy bullshit of the 7 string guitars. Another great bass for slapping is the ernie ball musicman.(very expensive though)Anyways hope this helped you out a bit, good luck and keep up the slapping !!!
