I notice it's been a while since your post... if you ordered the bass and are happy with it, great! I had a six string made myself and sent it back to be retrofitted with stiffening rods. When I received it, it was simply unplayable -- frets were uneven and pulling up in places, strings were digging grooves in the pickups -- plus the active/passive/piezo and parametric mid switches didn't work the way they were supposed to. There were also a number of cosmetic flaws, including an extremely messy epoxy used to cover the ruts in the back of the neck where the graphite rods were inserted. I sent it back again, almost a year ago now. I've never heard anything back. In his defense: If you notice on his Website, there is mention that he does not like to be rushed. I was told it would be ready in six weeks, so when six weeks came and went, I -- as a working musician -- got impatient.
