Well, I'm a 16-year old bassist who is freakin' lucky!
I had been looking for a good bass so I could get rid of my old Squire. So to make a long story short I found an used '78 Alembic Series 1 for $850! I played the thing, it blew me away, (as I expected). I had never seen an Alembic besides pictures, much less played one, much less owned one! So i bought it. It even came with the original power supply cord and a custom-fit travel case.
Its short scale, persian walnut top and back, neck-thru, 4-string, has zebrawood and albonite peghead veneers, ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl iinlays (ovals), mahogany base, and maple and purpleheart laminates on the body. Blows my mind!
If anybody here is considering an Alembic, go for it! Unbelieveable!
