I'm another one of those guys who buys buys buys and doesn't save save save, so I can relate to your affluent desires of instant gratification.
This is what I would do:
1.) Sell Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray 4 String
2.) Buy David Eden "Metro" Combo Amp
3.) Sell Ibanez Fretless 4 String
4.) Buy Peavey Cirrus 5-String
5.) Buy Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray 5 String
It sounds like you are sort of phasing you your days of using a 4 string. I don't think that many basses can match the tone of an Ernie Ball Music Man, so I'd recommend picking up a 5 string if you sell your 4. That can come in time. But if your main bass is the cirrus and you feel that it is honestly justifiable, then I say go for buying that too. Are you planning on bi-amping the Metro and your Fender bass combo? that would be interesting. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Ideally it would work. You would have the high and mids taken care of by the eden and the fender would take the lows. But I would sell the bxr and get a 15" extension cab or a 4x10 extension cab after. You could just use the eden combo when you wanted something small and then add extensions when needed.
