::: sorry..... What do you guys always want with ibanez stuff??? I hate these basses as a bass player and as a sound engineer (i do live from that!!)
Here`s the reason: the necks are too thin, so there `s no tone coming from the wood of the bass. Tey are some active ibanez with some kind of bass, but it`s all not the real thing, just stupid unexact wobbling sound in the low frequencies. Get yourself some cheap mexican fender jazz bass, an old squier one or a good jazz bass copy by fernandes or esp and you`re into the real thing. Sorry again, but i`m serious and Ive played nearly 15 basses in the last 22 years (actually i own six basses and a chapman stick...). Just listen carefully what comes out of a bass WITHOUT using an amp!!! This is the real thing which tells you if the intrument`s sound can stand in a mix of a band between all the other instruments, believe me!!

please have fun!!!

: : Check out the SR400 before you buy. It is a bit higher quality, and you can probably find a used one on eBay for less than a new SR300. Good luck.

: : : Hi it's me again,
: : : First I'd just like to thank Paige and steve for the help with my picking problem. My question is about the Ibanez soundgears, particularly the SR300DX.
: : : I am getting a new bass very soon and I'm thinking of getting the SR300DX because it seems to have everything I'm looking for. I want to know if it's worth the money, 400 dollars doesn't sound like alot for a bass but it's alot for me and I just want some input other than reviews from harmony central.
: : : My friend, who plays an older Ibanez, EDB says I should go for one of the ergodynes but the prices that I have found for them are too high for me, (All around 800 canadian). That's besides the point, if anyone has any experience with the Ibanez SR300DX or any other good, lightweight bass in the same price range, (300-500 dollars), it would help me alot if u replied.
: : : Thanx in advance,
: : : uch

: that was the first bass i ever owned and im selling it its a good bass and i changed out the pickups on it to emg's its for sell for like 300
