Hello from Paris, France.

I'm an average amateur bass player able to play steady four or six 16th notes in a row on a 110/120 beat and on a good mood able to play some triplet of 16 notes on a 100 beat (I know is not very musical as an introduction, but just to give you an idea of the technique). My favourite music : fast RnB, soul.

Anyway, I'm very bad on the knowledge of the variety of bass and sound effect. I have played and still play on Fender Precision (vintage US around 1978)- Quite satisfied of the neck, not satisfied with the sound - I have to confess I have just recently add a compressor and the sound is better, but still to deep and fat for me.

I bought also a Neuser 5 strings one year ago, passive mic - great sound to play slow RnB old style with legato effect, but not so for fast soul and I realize I feel unconfortable with the neck. I know Neuser is something great, but I think to switch for a 4 strings Fender Jazz Bass.

It would be very useful to have your advice on this idea, and also if you can advice on the Jazz bass model.
