: More of your wisdom please.
: I'm still lookng for my next bass. I've been around all the local shops, I pretty much have to choose from what's available, or import - which is expensive and a hassle. I like the look and sound of a Yamaha BBG4AIIA (!) US$475 and a Fender Highway jazz (active) at $750.
: The Yam is in a department store, and I had to play it through a small guitar amp.
: The Fender, in another shop, I played through a big fender amp.
: The Fender sounded great, but I thought the sound might be a bit tiring after an hour or two??
: The Yam is more my price, I could strecth to te Fender with effort.
: Whatever I choose will have to last me a looong time.
: The music I like is modern jazz/fusion, Motown, blues, but I enjoy all music. Tom Browne, Urbanator, Lenny White - and Barry White.
: I would be gald to hear from anyone with experience or views on these basses, please.
: Thanks,
: Doug
I forgot to say that I only play at home, to recorded music. I am a bit remote so the chance of playing with others is remote.
