: : : Looking for an inexpensive distortion effect. Have a bass pod, but the 3 distortion effects patches are hard to apply without blasting everyone out. I've tried backing off the channel volume and saving, then when I come back to it's too hot to handle again.
: : : Want to hear from others that have found a distortion effect that's easy to manage. I'd also consider electric guitar effects.

: : In addition to the pedals mentioned, I thought the Buddha Tube Bass Pedal was outstanding. Also expensive, but I think that's the way you're gonna have to go for quality sound. Some effects work fine between guitar and bass. Unfortunately distortion is not one of them, since there are a million great guitar distortions out there. Good luck.

: I hadn't heard the Budda Fat Bass before, but I'm impressed (I want one). I heard a sound clip of it on buzzfox.com. The only complaint I have with it is that the distortion seems to only work well when the gain is at 10. So it might be a one trick pony, but it's still sweet.
