: a guy at my local music store is trying to sell me the B2R head on and ampeg 4x10 cab and a 15cab. the prcie is good, but my question is, does the B2R put out enough watts to handle both the 4x10 and the 15?

The B2R can probably drive that combination to resonable levels...nothing really impressive, but passable. What you should really be concerned about is impedance. I wanted to drive my SVT-15E (single 15) and my SVT-410HLF (four 10s) with the same head a while back, and called Ampeg. The tech told me under NO circumstances to try to drive less than 4 ohms with that head. It WILL fry. Since one of those cabs is 4, and the other is 8, we'd be looking at a parallel combination of 2.6.

Not sure which cabs you're looking at, but check the impedance specs on the back. If either one is less than 8 ohms, don't try this.

I eventually kept the cabs and bought an SWR SM-900 head. Problem solved. Also, many other Ampeg heads can drive such a load comfortably...just not the B2R.
