As long as you don't push the cabinet very hard, it should be fine for low volume practice or recording. The speakers in your cabinet are not designed for bass, take it easy on them or it could get quite expensive. I'd be especially careful if you have a low B string.

: i'm a guitar player who just recently bought a bass head for recording some of my bass lines. i have not yet purchased a bass cabinet and only own a marshall 1960 guitar cabinet (standard 4x12). anyone with experience of playing bass through a guitar cabinet who can give me an advise?
