Hey ive been playing bass for quite a few years now ive played in many bands(bassist, vocals). I have played piano before and very much dislike the sheet music. (Took me 5 years to get fairly good at reading it, and mostly i would memorize the song after a while. Took me a while to find which note it was. So when i started playing bass guitar i said screw sheet music and now i only play tabs. The only part that makes me mad is tabs lack time signatures. Lengths, rests and all the other things required for TIMING!!!. First of all why the hell don't people add rests? i mean its just a little z or a heavy or light box and such would it kill them to add it? or is there a certain reason for this mindless stupidity? I guess the second question would be since im very involved in the music industry and were trying to get signed (the band) would it be worthwhile for me to learn sheet music? Or can i slip through the rest of my career without so much as looking at another stupid o with a tail?
