: Got a question for all the bass players with experiance... For a cabnet setup what pieces of equipment should I try out. I play a lot of classic rock with a heavy funk or jazz feel to it (depending on the song). I am told that GK is reliable but I wanted to get some other's opinions. At gigs I play in an atitorium with approx. 450 people. So what do you have to say? Thanks for your time!

Pyro.....I would look into combo amps. the technology is so ggod out of smaller combos these days, i feel that is the way to go. SWR, AMPEG, Fender....even Carvin are producing wonderful combos. Powerful enough for the 450 people you reference and light enough to move around. I demo'd a Black Beauty combo with a sub bass feature and built in effects and was quite impressed. Combos are great because they can handle a pretty big gig and if you need to get louder you can always run out to the house PA. The best of both worlds really. Peace, Dat
