Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about WWWBoard.
How many different bass boards are on this site?
Three. Here they are:
Can I post a bass-for-sale ad, or other classified ad?
Yes, post all bass related ads in the Bass Classifieds section. http://www.electricbass.com/classifieds/classifieds.cgi.
The Electric and Acoustic Bass boards are for general inquiries and discussions. Just try to keep all the info on the right board and you'll be doing fine.
I have a gear-related post- which board should I use?
Please keep all gear-related posts to the Electricbass.com, or Acousticbass.com boards. No gear posts are allowed on the Basslessons.com board. These rules are strictly enforced. Examples of gear posts include: 'what kind of strings do you use?,' 'how do you de-fret an electric bass;' 'I'm building a bass: maple or rosewood?" "etc. etc. If someone screws up, please remind them nicely.
Can I post a banner ad on the board for my bass related site?
Sorry, it wouldn't be fair the nice few who are paying me for banners on other pages of this site. If you want to contribute useful info to other members of the group, you are welcome to post or plug your website or product URL. Useful bass site announcements (i.e. bass sites of utility) are also welcome to all boards. If you would like to reach this audience with a banner ad, please contact me at email@example.com for advertising rates. This site received 5,000,000 hits last year alone..
Can I post TAB requests on the Bass Lessons board?
No. There are a ton of other bass tab sites out there. Find them at http://www.basslinks.com
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message. I encourage the use of html and images to illustrate musical points (post a gif of a riff, etc.). Spamming and banner ads are not allowed.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.
Why didn't my post show up?
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, and simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.
How many bass sites are in this network?
There are 4 bass related websites in this network: http://basslessons.com, http://electricbass.com, http://acousticbass.com, and http://basslinks.com. As mentioned above, the network received 5,000,000 hits in 2001, and continues to serve 25,000 unique bass players per month.
