: i have a 70-71 guild starfire bass and i would like to know why guild put filters(capacity and resistance)between the pickups and the output of the bass that reduce the sound?did they do that with the 60's starfire?was the output too loud???? jm
Filters are generally put into a circuit to change the tone, *not* to reduce the sound level. Not having seen the schematic, I can't tell you what everything was designed to do, unfortunately...
Hope that answers some of your question, anyway... :)
