: Does anyone know of any short scale basses currently being made, other than the Epiphone EB-0, and the Squire Bronco? My friend wants a quality short scale(he has small hands). He also has back problems, so a lightweight bass would be required also (this disqualifies the Ampeg Dan Armstrong reissue). Thanks...

Short scale has nothing to do wth how big your hands are. It has to do with how long your arms are. I'm
5'6" and have both a 35" & 34" bass. What is important for us small handed players
is the width at the nut. Have your bud go down to his local shop and check out nut width. Peavey has some
very narrow necks that are really playable. ( CIRRUS ) ( FOUNDATION )ect.
