: : : : I've desided to buy a six string and I'd need suggestions of good manufacturers. I've noticed that brands that make good four and even five strings can't make good six string basses. There was some talk about six strings earlier and now I'd like your opinions on this. Just brand names if nothing else will be greatly appreciated.
: : : Well Alright.......Let's see. Carvin, Warwick, Warmoth, Pedulla, Mike Pulcinella (mpguitars.com), Ibanez, Yamaha, Alembic, Jerzy Drozd, Modulas Graphite, that should get you started on some serious research. Good luck too you. Check out the Warmoth Gecko Bass at Warmoth.com, If you can use a screw driver, then you would have no problem bolting this bass together. Its about a 2500.00 bass for about 1000.00 and the idea that you had a hand in it's construction is kinda rewarding....peace......John
: : I've played on a Yamaha John Pattitucci(hope that's spelled correctly) signature
: : series 6-string and it plays like a dream. Great sound, feel and enough string space to funk on.
: : The catch is that I think they cost about $4,100.
: I've seen the John Patitucci for about $1,900...
Hey thanks, I wasn't sure because my friend that owns one paid $2,600. He told me
that they cost about 4,100. Besides, the yamaha website doesn't list prices.
Well, please tell me where you found one for that price... I really want one bad!
