: I've no clue as to what sort of bass amp to purchase to deliver lots of low end punch with out getting that fartting tone. I'm getting the fart because my gig tunes to C and I've just bought a 5-string to much low end in one shot . My bass amp is a old yamaha from the 80's what to do? what to do?

Hey Phil, ditto to what Bliss said. What amp do you have now? I still have a
Yamaha 100 1x15 combo I bought in 1977. It still sounds good, but, in my opinion
the newer Fenders are pretty good for the money. How much do you want to spend
and how big an amp are you willing to haul around. A bigger amp will move more
wind without breaking wind.
