: : i'm going to buy a new bass.
: : i'm still thinking about these 3 basses:G&L L-2000,musicman stingray,fender jazz
: : can anybody help me, which one should i buy?

: Hanz, I'll list the good and bad points of the two that I know, the G&L I'm
: not familiar with.

: Jazz Bass -- Good: Very thin, fast neck, at least 3 distinct sounds, easy to
: upgrade as far as getting new pickups, necks and hardware.
: Jazz Bass -- Bad: Some of the less expensive ones hum a lot if you're not at a
: 90 degree angle with the amp.

: Musicman -- Good: One of the best sounds out there. Will cut through anything.
: Active pickup is very responsive.
: Musicman -- Bad: The neck is WIDE. This bothers some people, you'd have to play
: one yourself to judge it. Active pickup has a battery. No big deal to some, others hate it.

: I've never played a G&L myself, but from what I've heard some people say live
: and on the web, they're excellent both in sound and workmanship.

: Hope this helped,
: Mickster

As far as i know, the Musicman Sterling is some kind of Stingray with a less wide neck, but it still has that Stingray sound...
